Today i went out and did an estimate in irving at a presbt. church, and as i was driving out there i noticed that they were about a block from the area famous irving bible church, particularly in light of their most recent announcement this month. anyway i walked in to get some literature on their church and to see if they have anything published about their decision to be more inclusive of women in ministry (everything but elder). They did, it was in their periodic publication called "chatter" and it basically detailed a reason or two, and a very surface level conversational argument as to why, while maintaining a humble approach. anyway, good stuff, regardless of issue. http://www.irvingbible.org/index.php?id=1231 the church i was doing an estimate also had a brochure type periodical (it just looked like a church bulletin on crack) it is unattractive but slightly informative. I am also aware that the village church has a very good publication called "the village pub" and i found it worth while as well, particularly since they are just a local entity. anyway, i wonder if these attractive, informative, and interesting publications are helpful in attracting/keeping people my age... i'm really wondering why the back door at my church has recently been ripped off in the last year and half by people my age. i wonder if it has something to do with no pastor designated to young adults, or no direction from the elders, or the amount of thought not put into our group. i assure you this is not a rant, i have no desire to leave, my desire to find out whats up and then help solve the problem. i just don't really know what the problem is.
